Ascension of Isaiah
Pseudonymously attributed to the prophet Isaiah; actual author(s) unknown. Most scholars view it as composite -- an earlier Jewish account of Isaiah's martyrdom (sawn in two under King Manasseh) joined to later Christian visionary material describing his ascent through seven heavens and foreseeing Christ's incarnation, death, and resurrection -- assembled into its present form by roughly the mid-to-late 2nd century AD. Canonical scripture in the Ethiopian Orthodox Church.
