The Sibylline Oracles

A composite collection by many unknown authors, both Jewish and Christian, writing in the voice of the legendary pagan prophetess 'the Sibyl'; individual books date from as early as the 2nd century BC (largely Jewish material) to as late as the 7th century AD (Christian additions and redactions). A sprawling body of oracular verse pronouncing judgment on the nations and, in its Christian portions, retelling the life of Christ and the end of the world.
