Jerusalem Talmud Bikkurim

Jerusalem Talmud Bikkurim: the Gemara of the land of Israel on Mishnah Bikkurim ("First Fruits"), in the order Zera'im (Seeds). Bringing the first fruits to the Temple and the declaration made over them (Deuteronomy 26:1-11). Its fourth chapter, on the androginos, is a later addition found in some editions. The Jerusalem Talmud (Talmud Yerushalmi) was compiled in Galilee, chiefly at Tiberias, about AD 400; each halakhah quotes a passage of the Mishnah (MISHNAH) and then discusses it (HALAKHAH). It is rabbinic law and teaching, not scripture. English and Hebrew/Aramaic by Heinrich W. Guggenheimer; his footnotes are not reproduced. In the English, words in parentheses and square brackets are his deletions and additions; in the Hebrew, a reading in parentheses is the manuscript's, deleted, and the one in square brackets his correction.
