In historical use by: Catholic (the Roman Rite, in the Tridentine form used until the liturgical reform of the 1960s) — The Proper of Saints for October, in the English of F. C. Husenbeth's 1853 Missal for the use of the Laity, including the Rosary, the Holy Guardian Angels, St Francis of Assisi, St Edward the Confessor, St Teresa, St Luke, SS. Simon and Jude and the Vigil of All Saints; many days are given by their first words from the Common of Saints with the prayers proper to that saint. A liturgical text of the Catholic Church, not scripture: its Lessons, Epistles and Gospels are readings from Scripture, but the rest is prayer. The form carried here is the one in use from the Council of Trent until the 1950s reform; the Church has since revised the rite. English only for now; the Latin is to be added.
The Masses of the saints' days for October in the English of the Rev. F. C. Husenbeth's Missal for the use of the Laity (London, 1853), in the form used from the Council of Trent until the liturgical reform of the 1950s: the Rosary, the Holy Guardian Angels, St Francis of Assisi, St Bruno, St Edward the Confessor of England with his Octave, St Teresa, St Luke, SS. Simon and Jude, the Venerable Bede, and the Vigil of All Saints. Many days give only the first words of a Mass in the Common of Saints, with the prayers proper to that saint. This is the English only; the Latin is to be added. The words in square brackets are the Missal's own headings and directions. A liturgy of the Catholic Church, not scripture.
