Told of Thaddaeus (also called Lebbaeus), one of the Twelve, sent to Edessa after the Resurrection; author unknown, date uncertain. A short form of the legend of King Abgar of Edessa, ruler of Edessa, who sent a letter to Christ and received his likeness imprinted on a linen cloth, and of Thaddaeus's healings and the church he founded there. Not part of any church's canon.
