The Testament of Solomon

Attributed to Solomon but pseudonymous and much later; the surviving Greek text was likely composed sometime between the 1st and 4th century AD, drawing on older Jewish and early Christian demonological tradition. Presents Solomon interrogating and binding a succession of demons -- each naming itself, its harm, and the angel or word that overpowers it -- whom he sets to work building the Temple, before recounting his own fall into idolatry near the end. A pseudepigraphal narrative about Solomon's God-given authority over evil spirits, not a magical instruction manual. Not part of any church's canon.
