Pistis Sophia: The Second Book
Continues the Pistis Sophia in Mead's 1921 English (see the First Book's introduction), chapters 63-101. The repentances of Pistis Sophia go on, each one interpreted by a disciple from the Psalms or the Odes of Solomon, until Jesus brings her up out of the chaos and sets her in a place of safety (the story is marked in this edition as ending at chapter 82). Jesus then turns to the mysteries of the Light and the "mystery of the Ineffable": the twelve mysteries of the First Mystery, the distinction between knowing the structure of the universe and receiving the mysteries, and the disciples' questions on how each will be shared with the world. Chapter 100 ends with the scribe's subscription, "A portion of the Books of the Saviour", and chapter 101 with a note that another book is concluded; both are kept as their own verses. Not part of any church's canon.
