Coptic-language texts from the Nag Hammadi library and related Gnostic tradition.

In 1945, a collection of ancient Coptic manuscripts was discovered near Nag Hammadi, Egypt — copies of texts, some centuries older, associated with early Gnostic Christian movements that the wider church came to regard as heterodox. They are not scripture in any church's canon, and most modern English translations of them remain under copyright, which limits what can be carried here in a genuinely public-domain edition.
