1AND now, my children, I exhort you, love ye each one his brother, and put away hatred from your hearts, love one another in deed, and in word, and in the inclination of the soul.
μῆνας ἙΚαὶ τέκνα μου, παραινῶ ὑμῖν ἀγαπᾶτε ἕν ἕκαστος Ἐτὸν καὶ ἐξάρατε τὸ μῖσος ἀπὸ τῶν καρδιῶν ὑμῶν᾽ ἀλλήλους ἐν ἔργῳ καὶ λόγῳ καὶ ἕως ἵνα διανοίᾳ ψυχῆ. κατὰ πρόσωπον τοῦ πατρός ἐλάλουν τῷ Ἰωσήφ᾽ ἐξερχόμενος δὲ ἐξ αὐτοῦ τὸ πνεῦμα μίσους ἐσκότιζέ μου τὸν νοῦν καὶ ἐτάρασσέξ᾽ ὃ ἀδελφόν. Ἔ μου τὸν λογισμὸν Ἐπρὸς τὸ ἀνελεῖν αὐτόν..
2For in the presence of my father I spake peaceably to Joseph; and when I had gone out, the spirit of hatred darkened my mind, and stirred up my soul to slay him.
3Love ye one another from the heart; and if a man sin against thee, speak peaceably to him, and in thy soul hold not guile; and if he repent and confess, forgive him.
᾿Αγαπήδᾶρ, σατεῖϊ ἀλλήλους ἀπὸ καρδίας, καὶ ἐάν τις Ἑἁμαρτήσει εἰς σέ ἀγαπῶντες. β-ἃ, καὶ ἐξελθόντος τὴν ψυχήν μου αὐτοῦ ἀπὸ προσώπου τοῦ πατρὸς ἡμῶν, ἐξερχομένου δέ μου ἐκ τοῦ πατρός εἰπὲ αὐτῷ εἰρήνην καὶ ἐν εἰπὲ αὐτῷ εἰρήνῃ τῇ ψυχῇ σου μὴ κρατήσῃς ορίσας τὸν ἰὸν τοῦ μίσους, καὶ εἴπετε. δόλον καὶ ἐὰν μετανοήσας ἐν τῇ ὃ ψυχῇ σου μὴ κρατήὑμῶν. ὁμολογήσῃ ἄφες αὐτῷ σῃς λον. καὶ ἐὰν ὁμολογήσας μετανοήσῃ ἄφες αὐτῷ, δὲ ἀρῤνεῖται, μὴ φιλονείκει αὐτῷ, μήποτε ὀμόσαντος αὐτοῦ δισσῶς ἁμαρτάνεις, Μὴ ἀκούσῃ μάχῃ ἀλ.λότριος μυστήριόν σουϑδ, Ἐΐνα μὴ μισήσας Ἐἐχθράνῃ καὶ μεγάλην ἁμαρτίαν ἐργάσηταιδϑ σοί ὅτι Ἐδολοφωνεῖ ἢ περιεργάζεταί ἐν κακοῖς ᾿λαβὼν ἀπό σου τὸν ἰόν.
4But if he deny it, do not get into a passion with him, lest catching the poison from thee he take to swearing and so thou sin doubly.
5Let not another man hear thy secrets when engaged in legal strife, lest he come to hate thee and become thy enemy, and commit a great sin against thee; for ofttimes he addresseth thee guilefully or busieth himself about thee with wicked intent.
Ἐὰν Ἐδὲ ἀρνήσηται Ἐαἰδεσθῇ ἐλεγχόμενος ἡσύχασον μὴ Τἐλέγξῃς τοῦ ὁ ὃ γὰρ ἀρνούμενος μετανοεῖ Ἐτοῦ πλημμελῆσαιδ μηκέτι καὶ φοβηθεὶς δέ Ἐέστιν ἀναιδής βοῇ. καὶ ἐνίσταταιδε τῇ κακίᾳ, οὕτως ἄφες αὐτῷ ἀλλὰ καρδίας, καὶ δὸς τῷ Θεῷ τὴν ἐκδίκησιν. σει σὲ
6And though he deny it and yet have a sense of shame when reproved, give over reproving him.
7For be who denieth may repent so as not again to wrong thee; yea, he may also honour thee, and fear and be at peace with thee.
Ἐὰν ὑπὲρ ὑμᾶς εὐοδοῦται μὴ λυπεῖσθεξ,
8And if he be shameless and persist in his wrong-doing, even so forgive him from the heart, and leave to God the avenging.
9If a man prospereth more than you, do not be vexed, but pray also for him, that he may have perfect prosperity.
ἀλλ᾽ ὃ εὔχεσθε ὑπὲρ αὐτοῦ δ᾽ ἵνα τελειωθῇδ γάρ ἐστιν σεται; ὑμῖν συμφέρον
10for so it is expedient for you.
11And if he be further exalted, be not envious of him, remembering that all flesh shall die; and offer praise to God, who giveth things good and profitable to all men.
Καὶ ἐὰν ἐπὶ πλεῖον ὑψοῦται, μὴ εἰρηνεύφθονεῖτε Γαὐτῷ μνημονεύοντες ὅτι πᾶσα σὰρξ ἀποθανεῖται. σει. τις. Κυρίῳ δὲ ὕμνους ὃ προσφέρετε τῷ παρέχοντι τὰ καλὰ καὶ τελείως εὐοδοῦται. καὶ φοβηθήσεται καὶ εἰρηνεύσει. φοβηθείς καὶ φοβηθήσεται οὕτως ἄφες αὐτῷ ἀπὸ ὅλης καρδίας καὶ δὸς ταῖς χερσὶν αὐτοῦ ἵνα τελείως συμφέροντα Ἐπᾶσιν ἀνθρώποις
12Seek out the judgments of the Lord, and thy mind will rest and be at peace.
13And though a man become rich by evil means, even as Esau, the brother of my father, be not jealous; but wait for the end of the Lord.
᾿Εξέτασον κρίματα Κυρίου καὶ Ἴκαταλάμψει καὶ ἡσυχάσει τὸ διαβούλιόν σου.
14For if he taketh away from a man wealth gotten by evil means He forgiveth him if he repent, but the unrepentant is reserved for eternal punishment.
15For the poor man, if free from envy he pleaseth the Lord in all things, is blessed beyond all men, because he hath not the travail of vain men.
Ἐὰν ἐκ κακῶν τις πλουτήσει, ὡς Ἡσαῦ ὃ πατράεἰ δελφόςἿ μου, μὴ ζγλώσητε ὅρον. δὲ Κυρίου ἐκδέξασθε. γάρ.
16Put away, therefore, jealousy from your souls, and love one another with uprightness of heart.
17Do ye also therefore tell these things to your children, that they honour Judah and Levi, for from them shall the Lord raise up salvation to Israel.
Εἰ ἀφαιρεῖται Ὑ αὐτὰ κακοῖς ἢ μετανοήσαντι μετανοοῖσιν. ἀφίησι ἢ ἀμετανόητος τηρεῖται Ἑαϊωνίαν κόλασιν μα Ὁ γὰρ πένης ἐὰν ἀφθόνως ἐπὶ πᾶσι Κυρίῳ εὐαρεστῇ τηρεῖ οὗτος Ἐὑπὲρ πάντας Ἰπλουτεῖδ, ὅτι οὐκ ἔχει τὸν Ἔπεριτηρήσει. σπασμὸν τῶν ματαίων ἀνθρώπων
18For I know that at the last your children shall depart from Him, and shall walk in O wickedness, and affliction and corruption before the Lord.
19And when he had rested for a little while, he said again; My children, obey your father, and bury me near to my fathers.
Ἐλάρατε οὖν τὸ ἐᾶν πὰ ἀπὸ τῶν ψυχῶν ὑμῶν, καὶ ἀγαπήσατε ἀλλήλους ἐν νος εὐθύτητι καρδίας. εὐχαριστῶν. δ᾽ πονηρὸν περισπασμὸν τῶν. ὅπως τιμήσωσιν Ἰούδα καὶ Λευὶδ Τὅτι ἐξ αὐτῶν ἀνατελεῖ ἔγνων, ὅτι ἀποστήσονταιϊ τὰ τέκνα ὑμῶν αὐτοῦδ, καὶϑ ἐπὶ τέλει πάσῃ πονηρίᾳ καὶ κακώσει καὶ διαφθορᾷ ἔσονται ἀπὸ Κυρίου. ἀποστήσΌντΤαι. ἙΚαὶ ἡσυχάσας ὀλίγον εἶπε πάλιν Τέκνα μου, ὑπακούσατε τοῦ πατρὸς ὑμῶν ὃ καὶ θάψατέ με ἐγγὺς τῶν πατέρων ἐνώπιον. μου. ἐξάρας τοὺς πόδας αὐτοῦ ἐκοιμήθη ἐν Ἔ εἰρήνῃ
20And he drew up his feet, and fell asleep in peace.
21And after five years they carried him up to Hebron, and laid him with his fathers.
Καὶ μετὰ Ἐἔτη πέντε ἀνήγαγον αὐτὸν τουχά. εἰς Χεβρών, καὶ ἔθηκαν αὐτὸν μετὰ τῶν πατέρων αὐτοῦ σας εἰπέν.
