1YE see, therefore, my children, how great things patience worketh, and prayer with fasting.
χὰ Ὁρᾶτε οὖν, τέκνα πόσα ἡ ὑπομονὴ μετἔλθητε. καὶ ἡ προσευχὴ μετὰ νηστείας. καὶ ὑμεῖς σωφροσύνην καὶ τὴν μεταδιόκητεῦ ἐν πεινώσει. ὑπομονῇ καὶ προσευχῇ μετὰ νηστείας ἐν ταπεινώσειδ᾽ καρδίας, ἠγάπησε. δἶ Κύριος κατοικήσει ἐν ὑμῖν, ὅτι ἀγαπᾷ τὴν σωφροσύνην. θεὸν ἐν οἴκῳ σκότους. καὶ ἐν ἱλαρῷ φωνῇ καὶ προσώπῳ ἔχαιρον καὶ ἐδόξαζον τὸν θεόν͵, ὅτε διὰ προφάσεως ἀπηλλάγην τῆς Αἰγυπτίας. παρερχομένη δὲ ἀτέναζεν θλίψεων Ἐ καὶ πειρασμῶν σωθήσεσθε διὰ κυρίου ἣ γὰρ ἐν λόγῳ ἢ ἐν ἸΩΣΗΦ͵
2So ye too, if ye follow after chastity and purity with patience and prayer, with fasting in humility of heart, the Lord will dwell among you because He loveth chastity.
3And wheresoever the Most High dwelleth, even though envy, or slavery, or slander befalleth a man, the Lord who dwelleth in him, for the sake of his chastity not only delivereth him from evil, but also exalteth him even as me.
ῬΌπου δὲ κατοικεῖ ὁ ὕψιστος κἂν ἢ φθόνος τις περιτις πέσῃ, κἂν δουλία, κἂν συκοφαντία ὁ Κύριος κατοικῶν ἐπ᾽ περιπέσῃ αὐτὸν διὰ τὴν σωφροσύνην μόνον, ἐκ τῶν κακῶν ῥύεται ἐς ἢ αὐτόν Τἀλλὰ καὶ ὑψοῖ καὶ δοξάζει ὡς .ἢἣ Πάντας γὰρ ἀνθρώπους ἢ ἐν ἔργῳ, ἐν λόγῳ, ἣ ἐν Τσυνέρχεται ἀδελφοί σκότει μου πῶς ἠγάπησέ ὃ πατήρ καὶ οὐχὶ ὑψούμην τῇ καίπερ νήπιος ὑπάρχων εἶχον τον φόβον τοῦ θεοῦ ἐν τῇ καρδίᾳ ὅτι πάντως πάντα παρελεύσεται.
4For in every way the man is lifted up, whether in deed, or in word, or in thought.
Καὶ ἐπήρθην ἐν κακῷ γὰρ ὁ ἀλλ᾽δὸ ἐτίμουν ἀδελφούς καὶ διὰ τὸν φόβον δ᾽ Τέμέτρουν ἐμαντὸν καί. ὁ αὐτῶν καὶ πιπρασκόμενος ἐσιώπουν εἰπεῖνδΕ Ἐ τοῖς σκόμενος δικαίου μή.
5My brethren knew how my father loved me, and yet I did not exalt myself in my mind: although I was a child, I had the fear of God in my heart; for I knew that all things would pass away.
6And I did not raise myself against them with evil intent, but I honoured my brethren; and out of respect for them, even when I was being sold, I refrained from telling the Ishmaelites that I was a son of Jacob, a great man and a mighty.
ἘΚαὶ ὑμεῖς Ἐτέκνα μου, ἔχετε ἐν πάσῃ τὸ γένος πράξει ὑμῶν Ἐπρὸ ὀφθαλμῶν ὑμῶν τοῦ θεοῦ φόβονδ, μου ὅτι. καὶ τιμᾶτεδ τοὺς ἀδελφοὺς ὑμῶν᾽ πᾶς ὁΐ ποιῶν ὃ νόμον Κυρίου ἀγαπηθήσεται ὑπ᾽ αὐτοῦ.
7Do ye also, my children, have the fear of God in all your works before your eyes, and honour your brethren.
8For every one who doeth the law of the Lord shall be loved by Him.
ἘἘρχόμενος δὲ β-ἃ, Ἐμετὰ τῶν Ἰσμαϊλιτῶν ἐπηρώτων με λέγοντες Δοῦλος εἶ; Κἀγὼ εἶπον ὅτι δοῦλός εἰμι ἐξ οἴκου ἵνα μὴ αἰσχύνω ᾿Ινδοκολπίτας,
9And when I came to the Indocolpitae with the Ishmaelites, they asked me, saying:
ἠρώτων με Κἀγὼ εἶπον. τοὺς ἀδελφούς μου.
10Art thou a slave? And I said that I was a home-born slave, that I might not put my brethren to shame.
11And the eldest of them said unto me: Thou art not a slave, for even thy appearance doth make it manifest.
Λέγει δέ μοι ὁ μείζων αὐτῶν δ᾽ εἶ δοῦλος ὅτι καὶ ἡ ὄψις δηλοῖ ᾿Εγὼ δηλοῖ Ἐλέγω αὐτοῖς ὅτι δοῦλος Γαὐτῶν ὑπάρχω
12But I said that I was their slave.
Ὡς ἴω σον δὲ Ἐεὶς Αἴγυπτον ἐφθάσαμεν ἐμάχοντο περὶ ἐμοῦ Ἔτίς ἠπείλει προδοὺς χρυσίον λάβῃ
13Now when we came into Egypt they strove concerning me, which of them should buy me and take me.
14Therefore it seemed good to all that I should remain in Egypt with the merchant of their trade, until they should return bringing merchandise.
Διὸ πᾶσιν ἔδοξεν ἕω, θάῴο με Αἴγυπτον πρὸς μετάβολον τῆς ἐμπορίας νατονῚ. αὐτῶν, ἕως ὅτουδ ἐπιστρέψουσιν φέροντες ἐμπορίαν
15And the Lord gave me favour in the eyes of the merchant, and he entrusted unto me his house.
16And God blessed him by my means, and increased him in gold and silver and in household servants.
δὲ Κύριος ἔδωκέ μοιδῦ χάριν ἐν ὀφθαλμοῖς τοῦ μεταβόλου καὶ ἐπίστευσέδ μοι τὸν οἶκον αὐτοῦ.
17And I was with him three months and five days.
Καὶ περὶ ἐμοῦ εὐλόγησεν αὐτὸν Ῥὸ Θεὸς ἐνδϑ χειρί μου, καὶ ἐπλήθυνεν ἐμάἙ αὐτὸν ἐν χρυσίῳ καὶ Γκαὶ ἔργω
18And about that time the Memphian woman, the wife of Pentephris came down in a chariot, with great pomp, because she had heard from her eunuchs concerning me.
19And she told her husband that the merchant had become rich by means of a young Hebrew, and they say that he had assuredly been stolen out of the land of Canaan.
Καὶ ἤμην μετὰ Ἐμῆνας τρεῖς λαμπήνῃ τοῦ μετὰ δόξης πολλῆς, αὐτὸν ἐν παρῃει. ἐμπορίας αὐτῶν ἀντὶ ἐμοῦ ἵνα με λάβῃ ἀντὶ κέρδους αὐτῶν ἡμέρας ἐνενήκοντα καὶ πέντε. ὅτι ἤκουσε περὶ ἐμοῦ παρὰ τῶν εὐνούχων αὐτῆς τῷ ἀνδρὶ αὐτῆς, Ἔτι ἐπλούτησεν ὁ τοὺ κλοπῇ ἔκλεψαν αὐτὸν ἐκ γῆς Χαναάν.
20Now, therefore, render justice unto him, and take away the youth to thy house; so shall the God of the Hebrews bless thee, for grace from heaven is upon him.
21And Pentephris was persuaded by her words, and commanded the merchant to be brought, and said unto him:
Νῦν οὖν μοὺς ποίησον μετ᾽ αὐτοῦ κρίσιν, καὶ ἀφελοῦ τὸν νεανίαν εἰς αὐτῆ τὸν οἶκον ἡμῶν, καὶ Ἐεὐλογῆσαί σε ἔχει Ὁ Θεὸς τῶν Ἑβραίων ὅτι χάρις ἐκ οὐρανοῦ ἐστι πρὸς αὐτόν εὐνοῦχι
22What is this that I hear concerning thee, that thou stealest persons out of the land of Canaan, and sellest them for slaves?
Ὁ δὲ ΓΠεντεφρὶς πεισθεὶς τοῖς λόγοις ᾿αὐτῆς ἐκέλευσεν τὸν μετάβολον, λέγει αὐτῷ ἘΤί τοῦτο ὃ ἀκούω ἵπερί σου ἵ, ὅτι κλέπτεις ψυχὰφ᾽ ἐκ γῆς περὶ τοῦ Χαναάν, Ἕ καὶ παῖδας μεταπωλεῖς δὲ δἰκόν καὶ εὐλογήσει σε. ἀχθηναι. μετεμκολῶν. παῖδας ἀπεμπολῶν. εἰς παῖδας δουλείαν μετεμπολῶν ὃ, μετεμπωλῶν. ἀπάγγειλόν μοι, εἰ ταῦτα οὕτως ἔχῃ καθὼς ἀκούω περί σον. πεσὼν εἰς πόδας αὐτοῦ Ἐῤδέετο λέγων Δέομαί κύριε, Ἔοὐκ λέγεις, ἀἈ. ἘΚαὶ τεσὼν λέγει αὐτῷ ὁ Πεντεφρής
23But the merchant fell at his feet, and besought him, saying: I beseech thee, my lord, I know not what thou sayest.
24And Pentephris said unto him: Whence, then, is the Hebrew slave?
Πόθεν οὖν; ὁ παῖς ἐπὶ ερίςς ὁ βραῖος καὶ εἶπεν ᾿Ισμαϊλῖται παρέθεντό πον μοι αὐτόν, ἕως ὅτου ἐπιστρέψωσιν δὲ οὐκ ἐπίστευσεν αὐτῷ ἀλλ᾽ ἐκέλευσεν γυμνὸν τύπτεσθαι Ἐπιμένοντος δὲ αὐτοῦ τοῖς λόγοις ὁ ᾿Ἐναχθήτω ὅ οὖν ὁ νεανίσκος.
25And he said: The Ishmaelites entrusted him unto me until they should return.
Καὶ εἰσαχθεὶς προσεκύνησα τῷ Πεντεφρῇ τρίτος γὰρ ἦν ἔφη, ἘΣν ἀξιώματι παρὰ τῶνδ᾽ φαραὼ ἀρχόντων᾽,
26But he believed him not, but commanded him to be stripped and beaten.
27And when he persisted in this statement, Pentephris said: Let the youth be brought.
Καὶ πὴ. τύπτεσθαι αὐτόν. ἀποκριθήτω. ἀρχιευνούχῳ. ἐν ἀξίᾳ παρὰ τῷ Γἄρχων πάντων τῶν εὐνούχων, ἔχων γυναῖκας καὶ παλλακὰς καὶ τέκνα διαχωρίσας ἀπ᾽ αὐτοῦ μοι Δοῦλος εἶ λέγει καὶ Τῶν Ἰσμαηλιτῶν.
28And when I was brought in, I did obeisance to Pentephris for he was third in rank of the officers of Pharaoh.
29And he took me apart from him, and said unto me: Art thou a slave or free?
δὲ εἶπε. Πῶς αὐτῶν ἐγένου δοῦλος καὶ εἶπον ἐκ πρὸς τὸν Γοντως Καὶ εὐθὺς Ἐῤκέλευσε κἀμὲ γυμνὸν ἄνδρα τύπτεσθαι. μενόν Ἐπλησίον γὰρ ἦν ὁ οἶκος αὐτῆς, καὶ ἀπέστειλε ἶσα πρὸς αὐτόνδ, λέγουσα ΓΑδικοςἴ ἡ κρίσις σουδ, ὅτι τὸν κλαπέντα ᾿ἐλεύθερον, Ἐτιμωρεῖς, ὡς ἀδικήσαντα ἐκέλευσε Ἐφυλαχθῆναί με.δ, ἕως οὗ ἔλθωσιν οἱ κύριοι τοῦ αὐτόν. παιδόςδ,
30And I said: A slave.
δὲ γυνὴ ἔλεγε πρὸς τὸν ἄνδρα αὐτῆς δ᾽ συνέχεις τὸν αἰχμάλωτον καὶ εὐγενῆ παῖδα Ἐὰν β,Α, δεσμοῖς ἔδει μᾶλλον ἄνετον εἶναι καὶ ὑπηρετεῖσθαι
31And he said: Whose?
32And I said: The Ishmaelites'.
Ἤθελε ὁρᾶν ἐν πόθῳ ᾿ἁμαρτίας ἐγὼ δὲ δι ἠγνόουν ἐν πᾶσι τούτοις δὲ πρὸς αὐτήν ὁ δὲ Οὐκ ἐστὶ Ἐτοῦτο τοῖς Αἰγυπτίοις πρὸ ἀφαιρεῖσθαι τὰ ἀλλότριαι.
33And he said: How didst thou become their slave?
34And I said: They bought me out of the land of Canaan.
Ταῦτα οὖν εἶπε περὶ τοῦ μεταβόλου δὲ Ἐῤῥφείλει ἐγκατάκλειστος μά
35And he said unto me: Truly thou liest; and straightway he commanded me to be stripped and beaten.
Μετὰ δὲϊ εἰκοσιτέσσαρας ἦλθον τοῖς. Ἰσμαηλῖται Ἐΐσαν γὰρϑ ἀκούσαντες ὅτι ᾿Ιακὼβ ὁ πατήρ μον πολλὰδ᾽ πενθεῖ περὶ ἐμοῦδ, Ἔ καὶ ἐλθόντες λέγουσι ἢ πρός ᾿ οὖν ὅτι. ᾽ καί. βΚ εἶπον. παῖς εἰκοσιτέσσαρας ἧμ. τέσσαρας. καί. ΧΥ.᾿ με.
36Now, the Memphian woman was looking through a window at me while I was being beaten, for her house was near, and she sent unto him saying:
37Thy judgement is unjust; for thou dost punish a free man who hath been stolen, as though he were a transgressor.
Τί ὅτι εἶπας δοῦλον καὶ ἰδοὺ ἔγνωμεν. ἡμεῖς ἐγγώκαμεν ὅτι εἶ ἀνδρὸς μεγάλου ἐν γῇ ἀ,Α,Β Χαναάν, καὶ πατήρ πενθεῖ περί σάκκῳ καὶ σποδῷ
38And when I made no change in my statement, though I was beaten, he ordered me to be imprisoned, until, he said, the owners of the boy should come.
ἘΤαῦτα ἀκούσας ἐγὼ διελύθη τὰ σπλάγχνα καὶ ἡ καρδία ἐτάκῃ, καὶ ἤθελον δακρῦσαι απὸ ἀλλ᾽ ἐπέσχον ἐμαυτόν ἵνα μὴ αἰσχύνω τοὺς σαι. ἀδελφούς μου, καὶ εἶπον αὐτοῖς ᾿Εγὼ οὐκ οἶδα δοῦλός εἰμι.
39And the woman said unto her husband: Wherefore dost thou detain the captive and wellborn lad in bonds, who ought rather to be set at liberty, and be waited upon?
40For she wished to see me out of a desire of sin, but I was ignorant concerning all these things.
Τότε ἐβουλεύσαντο πωλῆσαί ἵνα μὴ εὑρεθῶ ἐν ταῖς χερσὶν αὐτῶν
41And he said to her: It is not the custom of the Egyptians to take that which belongeth to others before proof is given.
42This, therefore, he said concerning the merchant; but as for the lad, he must be imprisoned.
᾿Εφόβουντο τὸν Ἐπατέρα μου ἵνα μὴ αὐτοῖς ποιήσει ἐκδίκησιν Ἰακώβ. κινδύνου ἤκουον γὰρ ὅτι μέγας ἐστὶ παρὰ Θεῷ καὶ β,Α, ἀνθρώποις.
43Now after four and twenty days came the Ishmaelites; for they had heard that Jacob my father was mourning much concerning me.
Τότε λέγει αὐτοῖς ὁ μετάβολος δ᾽. Λύσατέ με ἀπὸ τῆς κρίσεως τοῦ
44And they came and said unto me: How is it that thou saidst that thou wast a slave? and lo, we have learnt that thou art the son of a mighty man in the land of Canaan, and thy father still mourneth for thee in sackcloth and ashes.
45When I heard this my bowels were dissolved and my heart melted, and I desired greatly to weep, but I restrained myself that I should not put my brethren to shame.
Ἐ Ἐκεῖνοι δὲ β-ρ,Α,ι προσελθόντεςδ ἡτουν λέγοντε Εἰπὲ ὅτι ἐν Κυρίῳ, ἀργυρίῳ ἠγοράσθης ὃ ἡμῖν, Ἐκἀκεῖνος ἀπολῦσαι ἡμᾶς προσελθόντες οὖ. ἀπέλυσεν ἡμᾶς. δὲ Μεμφὶς εἶπε τῷ ἀνδρὶ αὐτῆς ἘΑγόρασον ἐδήτὸν ἀκούω γάρ, φησίνδ, ὅτι πωλοῦσιν αὐτόν. λῶσε.
46And I said unto them, I know not, I am a slave.
47Then, therefore, they took counsel to sell me, that I should not be found in their hands.
Εὐθέως δὲ ἀπέστειλε εὐνοῦἀπέστειλεν εὐνοῦχον σθαί χον ἐν τοῖς ᾿Ισμαϊλίταις, τοῦσάμε εἰς διάπρασιν.
48For they feared my father, lest he should come and execute upon them a grievous vengeance.
Ὁ δὲ εὐνοῦχος μὴ θελήσας ἀγοράτοῖς Ἰσμαηλίταις, αἰτοῦσά με διάπρασιν ᾿’ Ἕ καλέσας οὖν ὁ ἀρχιμάγειρος τοὺς Ἰσσαι ἀνεχώρησεν πειράσας αὐτούς, καὶ δηλοῖ τῇ δεσποίνῃ αὐτοῦ, ὅτι πολλὴν τιμὴν τοῦσιν τοῦ παιδός. μαηλίτας ἤτει με πρᾶσιν. μὴ θελήσας ἀνεχώρησεν᾽ϑ. εὐνοῦχος ἵπειρασθεὶς αὐτῶν δηλοῖ τῇ δεσποίνῃ ὅτι πολλὴν αἰτοῦσι τιμὴν παιδός. εὐθέως ἀπέλυσεν ἡμᾶς. καὶ ὁ μετάβολος ἀπέλυσεν ἡμᾶς τῷ ἀνδρὶ αὐτῆς. ὃ, ἡ δὲ ἐδήλωσε ἀπέστειλε τῷ αὐτῆς. ἐδήλωσε δὲ αὐτῷ ἡ γυνὴ αὐτοῦ. καὶ ἐδήλωσε τῷ ἀ. αὐτῆς ἡ καὶ ἡτεῖτό διάπρασιν παρ᾽ αὐτῶν ὁ Πεντεῴφρίς εἰπόντες δὲ πολλὴν τὴν τιμήν μου, καὶ μὴ θελήσας ἀπέστειλεν ἡμᾶς, ὁ δὲ εὐνοῦχος πορευθεὶς ἐδήλωσε τῇ δεσποίνῃ αὑτοῦ ταῦτα. δὲ ἀπέστειλεν ἕτερον λέγουσα μόνον πριασάμενος τὸν παῖδα Ἐ πρός με.
49For they had heard that he was mighty with God and with men.
50Then said the merchant unto them: Release me from the judgement of Pentiphri.
Ἐλθὼν οὖν ὁ εὐνοῦχος᾽ καὶ δοὺς αὐτοῖς ὃ ὀγδοήκοντα χρυσοῦς Ἶ ἀνελάβετό τῇ δὲ Αἰγυπτίᾳ εἶπεν β-ἀ, ὅτι δέδωκα ἑκατόν,
51And they came and requested me, saying: Say that thou wast bought by us with money, and he will set us free.
᾿Εγὼ εἰδὼς ἢ ἐσιώπησαϑ ἵνα μὴ αἰσχυνθῇ εὐνοῦχος Ὁρᾶτε τέκνα πόσα ὑπέμεινα ἵνα μὴ δεδόσαἰσχύνω τοὺς ἀδελφούς μου.
52Now the Memphian woman said to her husband: Buy the youth; for I hear, said she, that they are selling him.
53And straightway she sent a eunuch to the Ishmaelites, and asked them to sell me.
Καὶ ὑμεῖς ἀγαπᾶτε Καὶ ἀλλήλους, καὶ ἐν μακροθυμίᾳ ἀλλήλων τὰ αἰκισθῇῆ. ἐλαττώματα,,
54But since the eunuch would not agree to buy me at their price he returned, having made trial of them, and he made known to his mistress that they asked a large price for their slave.
55And she sent another eunuch, saying: Even though they demand two minas, give them, do not spare the gold; only buy the boy, and bring him to me.
Τέρπεται γὰρ ὁ θεὸς Ἰ ὁμονοίᾳ καταισχύνω. Καὶ λαβὼν ὁ εὐνοῦχος τὸ χρυσίον κατεδίωξεν ἡμᾶς καὶ ὀγδοήκοντα δοὺς αὐτοῖς ἀντὶ ἐμοῦ, καὶ λαβών με παρ᾽ αὐτοῖς ἐλθόντων ἡμῶν τὸν οἶκον ἑκατὸν εἶπεν δεδωκέναι, καὶ εἰδὼς ἐγὼ ἐσιώπησα ἵνα μὴ καταισχύνω τοὺς συνδούλους μου, ἀδελφῶν καὶ ἐπὶ προαιρέσει καρδίας ἀγαθῆς εὐδοκοῦσιν εἰς ἀγαθόν, ἘΌτε ἦλθον οἱ ἀδελφοί μου αὐτοὶ γινώσκουσιν ὅτι Ἐἀπέστρεψα τὸ ἀγάπην ἀργύριον αὐτοῖς, καὶ οὐκ ὠνείδισα αὐτούς, παρεκάἀγαλεσαῖ Γαὐτούς μετὰ θάνατον τοῦ πατρός Γπερισσοτέρως ἠγάπησα αὐτούς, καὶ πάντα ὅσα ὡς. ἤθελον Γὁπερεκπερισσοῦ ἐποίουν αὐτοῖς. οὐκ ἀρ, ἀφῆκα αὐτοὺς θλιβῆναι Ἐ ἕως μικροῦ πράγματος καίγε πᾶν ὃ ἦν ἐν τῇ χειρί αὐτοῖς δέδωκα
56The eunuch therefore went and gave them eighty pieces of gold, and he received me; but to the Egyptian woman he said I have given a hundred.
ἴκαὶ β-αἃ, οἱ υἱοὶ αὐτῶν υἱοί μουδ, Ἃ αἱ οἱ μου ὡς δοῦλοι αὐτῶν ἐκέκαὶδ ἡ ψυχὴ ῬἙαὐτῶν ψυχή μουδέ, καὶ πᾶν ἄλγημαϑδ αὐτῶν δὶ Γὲκ περισσοῦ ἐποίησα. μου ψνχὴ αὐτῶ. ἄλγημά Γκαὶ πᾶσα μαλακία αὐτῶν Ἐἀσθένευά μου, καὶ ἢ ἡ βουλὴ αὐτῶν βουλή
57And though I knew this I held my peace, lest the eunuch should be put to shame.
58Ye see, therefore, my children, what great things I endured that I should not put my brethren to shame.
Καὶ οὐχ ὕψωσα ἐμαυτὸν ὃ μου γῆ ἐν αὐτοῖς ἀλαφονείᾳ διὰ τὴν Γκοσμικήν δόξαν Γἀλλ᾽ ἤμην ἂν αὐτοῖς ὡς εἷς τῶν ἐλαχίστων ὶ ΓΕὰν οὖν καὶ ὑμεῖς ὃ πορευθῆτε ἐν ταῖς ὃ ἐντολαῖς βουλὴ ὑψώσει ὑμᾶς θεὸς ἀγαθοῖς; αἰῶνας. αὐτῶν. Ἐξάν τις θέλειΪ κακοποιῆσαι ὑμᾶς, ὑμεῖς τῇ ϑικυμίου, ἀγαθοεργείᾳ εὔχεσθε ὑπὲρ αὐτοῦ, καὶ ἀπὸ παντὸς κακοῦ τέκνα ἀντρϑρησέσθεινε ὑπὸ Κυρίου,
59Do ye also, therefore, love one another, and with long-suffering hide ye one another's faults.
60For God delighteth in the unity of brethren, and in the purpose of a heart that takes pleasure in love.
Ἰδοὺ ὁρᾶτε ὅτι ᾿διὰ τὴν Ἐ ταπείνωσιν καὶ τὴν μακροθυμίαν θυγατέρα Ἐἱερέως ἔλαβον ἐμαυτῷ εἰς γυναῖκα καὶ ἑκατὸν τάλαντα Ἐχρυσίου δέδονταί Ἐσὺν αὐτῇ Ἐκ Κύριός μου αὐτοὺς Ὁ κατεδούλωσεν ὑἱῶ. ὁ ἀγαθοποιΐᾳ. μακροθυμίαν καί. κυρίων καὶ ὡραιότητα ἔδωκέ μοι ὡραίους Ἰσραήλ, Καὶ γὰρ ὅμοιος ἤ ἤμην ἐν πᾶσι τῷ ᾿Ιακώβ. ὑπέρ. τέκνα καὶ Τοῖδα τὸ ἐνύπνιον ὃ β-δὸ ἐνυπνίων,
61And when my brethren came into Egypt they learnt that I had returned their money unto them, and upbraided them not, and comforted them.
Δώδεκαδ Δώδεκα ἐλάφους ἑώρων ἔλαφοι τόπῳ ἐνέμοντο καὶ ἐξ αὐτῶν καὶ οἱ ἐννέαδ διεσπάρησαν διεσπάρησαν δὲ τρεῖς ἐσώἘ εἰς πᾶσαν τὴν γῆν ὁμοίως καὶ τῇ ἡμέρᾳ τῇ ἑξῆς δὲ ὃ. καὶ οἱ τρεῖς. καὶ αὐτοὶ διεσπάρησαν. ἑώρων ὅτι τρεῖς ἔλαφοι τρεῖς ἀμνοὶ ἐγίνοντο καὶ ἐβόησαν πρὸς Κύριον καὶ ἐξήγαγε αὐτοὺς Κύριος τόπον εὐθαλῆ καὶ ἔνυδρον, καὶ ἤγαγε, αὐτοὺς ἐκ σκότους φῶς.
62And after the death of Jacob my father I loved them more abundantly, and all things whatsoever he commanded I did very abundantly for them.
63And I suffered them not to be afflicted in the smallest matter; and all that was in my hand I gave unto them.
Καὶ ἐκεῖ ἐβόησαν πρὸς Κύριον μέχρι οὗ συνήχθησαν Ἐπρὸς αὐτοὺς οἱ ἐννέα ἔλαφοι καὶ ἐγίνοντο αὐτοὶ ὡς δώδεκα πρόβατα, καὶ μετ᾽ ὀλίγον χρόνον ηὐξάνοντο καὶ ἐγίνοντο ποίμνια πολλά.
64And their children were my children, and my children as their servants; and their life was my life, and all their suffering was my suffering, and all their sickness was my infirmity.
Καὶϊδ μετὰ ταῦτα ἑώρων ἰδοὺδ δώδεκα βόες ἣν -Ασανὲθ γυνή μον ὡραῖος ὡς ἄνθος καὶ ἐγὼ ἦν ὡραῖος ὑπὲρ πάντας ἐκλεκτοὺς Ἰσραὴλ καὶ σώφρων καὶ ταπεινὸς ὑπὲρ Λευὶ καὶ Ἰιούδα καὶ ὑπὲρ Νεφϑαλείμ ἐφύλαξέ με ἐν κάλλει κάλλει μίαν δάμαλιν, ἡ γάλακτος θάλασσαν ἐποίει καὶ ἔπινον ἐξ αὐτοῦ αἱ δώδεκα ποίμναι καὶ ἀνηρίθμητα ποίμνια.
65My land was their land, and their counsel my counsel.
66And I exalted not myself among them in arrogance because of my worldly glory, but I was among them as one of the least.
Καὶ τοῦ τετάρτου βοὸς ἀνέβησαν τὰ κέρατα μέχρι τοῦ οὐρανοῦ καὶ ἐγένοντο ὡς τεῖχος τῶν ποιμνῶν, καὶ ἐν μέσῳ τῶν κεράτων ἐξεβλάστησεϑ ἄλλο κέρας. Καὶ ἑώρων Ἔμόσχον ὃς δωδεκάκις περιέβαλλε αὐτούς, καὶ ἐγένετο τοῖς βουσὶ ὁλοκλήρως εἰς βοήθειαν. εἶδον ἐκ τοῦ
67If ye also, therefore, walk in the commandments of the Lord, my children, He will exalt you there, and will bless you with good things for ever and ever.
68And if any one seeketh to do evil unto you, do well unto him, and pray for him, and ye shall be redeemed of the Lord from all evil.
Καὶ εἶδον μέσῳ τῶν Ἰούδα ἐγεννήθη Ἐπαρθένος, κεράτων παρθένον τινά, ἔχουἔχουσα στολὴν βυσσίνην, καὶ σαν στολὴν ποικίλον καὶ ἐξ ἐξ αὐτῆς ἐγεννήθη ἀμνὸς ἄμωαὐτῆς προῆλθεν ἀμνός καὶ θεν. καὶ ἦν ἐξ ἀριστερῶν ἐξ ἀριστερῶν αὐτοῦ ὥρμων αὐτοῦ ὡς λέων καὶ πάντα τὰ πάντα τὰ θηρία καὶ πάντα θηρία ὥρμων Ἔ κατ᾽ αὐτοῦϑὶ τὰ ἑρπετά, καὶ ἐνίκησεν αὐτὰ καὶ ἐνίκησεν αὐτὰ ὁ ἀμνός, ὁ ἀμνός, καὶ ἀπώλεσεν αὐτά, καὶ ἀπώλεσεν αὐτὰ κατα-
69For, behold, ye see that out of my humility and longsuffering I took unto wife the daughter of the priest of Heliopolis.
Καὶ ἔχαιρον δι᾽ αὐτὸν πάτημα, Καὶ ἔχαιρον βόες ἡ δάμαλις καὶ οἱ αὐτῷ ὃ οἱ Ἐἄγγελοι καὶ ἔλαφοι ἠγάλλοντο ἅμα μετ᾽ ἄνθρωποιδ καὶ πᾶσαδ ἡ γῆ. αὐτῶν,
70And a hundred talents of gold were given me with her, and the Lord made them to serve me.
71And He gave me also beauty as a flower beyond the beautiful ones of Israel; and He preserved me unto old age in strength and in beauty, because I was like in all things to Jacob.

72And hear ye, my children, also the vision which I saw.
73There were twelve harts feeding: and the nine were first dispersed over all the earth, and likewise also the three.
Ταῦτα δὲ γενήσεται ἐν δεῖ γίνεσθαι ἐν καιρῷ αὐτῶν. καιρῷ αὐτῶν͵ ἐν ἐσχάταις ὑμεῖς, τέκνα ἡμέραις.
74And I saw that from Judah was born a virgin wearing a linen garment, and from her, was born a lamb, without spot; and on his left hand there was as it were a lion; and all the beasts rushed against him, and the lamb overcame them, and destroyed them and trod them under foot.
Ὑμεῖς οὖν, τιμήσατε τὸν Λευὶ καὶ τὸν τέκνα μου, φυλάξατε τὰς ἐν᾿ἸΙούδαν ὅτι ἐξ αὐτῶν ἀνατελεῖ τολὰς Κυρίου, καὶ σωτηρία τοῦ Ἰσραήλ, ὅτι ἐκ τοῦ σπέρματος αὐτῶν καὶ ἀνατελεῖ ὑμῖν ὃ ἀμνὸς τοῦ Λευὶ ὅτι Θεοῦ, ὁ αἴρων τὴν ἁμαρτίαν τοῦ δι εἶ σώζων πάντα τὰ χάριτι. καὶ εἶδον ὅτι ἐν μέσῳ τῶν κεράτων μόσχος ἐγενήθη ἀμνός, τριῶν ἐλάφων. δύο τῶν τριῶν ἐλάφων. καὶ ἔλαφοι ἔθνη καὶ τὸν Ἰσραήλ. ἐμὴ βασιλεία
75And because of him the angels and men rejoiced, and all the land.
76And these things shall come to pass in their season, in the last days.
Ἧ γὰρ βασιλεία αὐτοῦ ὑμῖν ἐπιτελεσθήσεται, βασιλεία ἔσται αἰώνιος ὀπωροφυλάκιον, ὃ οὐ ἥτις οὗ παρελεύσεται. ἡ δὲ σεται τὸ θέρος
77Do ye therefore, my children, observe the commandments of the Lord, and honour Levi and Judah; for from them shall arise unto you the Lamb of God, who taketh away the sin of the world, one who saveth all the Gentiles and Israel.
ἐμὴ βασιλείαδι ἐν ὑμῖν ἐπιτελεῖται, ὡς ὀπωροφυλάκιον ὅ οὐ μετὰ τὸ θέρος ἐξαφανί. Αἰγύπτιοι θλίψουσινδ ἀλλ᾽ ὁ ποιήσει τὴν ἐκδίκησιν ὑμῶν καὶ ἐπάξειἵ ὑμᾶς εἰς ἐπαγγελίας τῶν δι μὲς πατέρων ὑμῶν.
78For His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, which shall not pass away; but my kingdom among you shall come to an end as a watcher's hammock, which after the summer disappeareth.
79For I know that after my death the Egyptians will afflict you, but God will avenge you, and will bring you into that which He promised to your fathers.
Ἐμεῖς δὲ τὰ ὀστᾶ αἱ μου μεθ᾽ ὑμῶν Γὄτι, ἀναγομένων τῶν ὀστέων ἐκεῖ ἀλλά. Κύριος ἐν φωτὶ ἔσται μεθ᾽ ὑμῶν καὶ ὁ Βελίαρ Ἐὲν σκότει ἔσται. μετὰ τῶν Αἰγυπτίων.
80But ye shall carry up my bones with you; for when my bones are being taken up thither, the Lord shall be with you in light, and Beliar shall be in darkness with the Egyptians.
81And carry ye up Asenath your mother to the Hippodrome, and near Rachel your mother bury her.
ἘΑσυνὲθ δὲ τὴν μητέρα Ἱππόδρομον καὶ πλησίον Ῥαχιὴλ τῆς μητέρος μου Ἐθάψατε αὐτήν
82And when he had said these things he stretched out his feet, and died at a good old age.
ἘΚαὶ ΤΖελφὰν τὴν μητέρα ὑμῶν ἀναγάγετε καὶ ὃ ἐγγὺς Βάλλας παρὰ Ἱππόδρομον πλησίον ἘῬαχήλ, θέτε αὐτήν καὶ ἐγγὺς τῆς ἀδελφῆς μου καὶ ἐγγὺς τῆς μητέρος θέτε αὐτόν Ἐταῦτα εἰπὼν ἐκτείνας τοὺς πόδας αὐτοῦ Ἐ Σκοιμήθη ὕπνῳ καλῷϑ͵
83And all Israel mourned for him, and all Egypt, with a great mourning.
84And when the children of Israel went out of Egypt, they took with them the bones of Joseph, and they buried him in Hebron with his fathers, and the years of his life were one hundred and ten years.
Καὶ ἐπένθησεν αὐτὸν πᾶς ἸΙσραὴλ καὶ πᾶσα Αἴγυπτος πένθος μέγα. ὕπνον αἰώνιον. ἐν τῇ ἐξόδῳ τῶν υἱῶν γὰρ σὺν τοῖς ΑἰγυἸσραὴλ ἐξ Αἰγύπτου συνήπτίοις Ἐὼὡς μέλος ἔπασχε, γαγον τὰ ὀστᾶ Ἰωσήφ, καὶ ἐνδδ παντὶ ἔθαψαν αὐτὸν ἐν Χεβρὼν μετὰ ἔργῳ βουλῇ καὶ πράτῶν πατέρων αὐτοῦ ἐγένοντο γματι παριστάμενος δὲ τὰ ἔτη τῆς ζωῆς αὐτοῦ ἔτη ἑκατὸν δέκα,
