3 Maccabees

Author unknown; despite its title, concerns events before the Maccabean revolt (set in Ptolemaic Egypt in the late 3rd century BC), likely composed in Greek in the 1st century BC or AD. Recounts the deliverance of Egyptian Jews from a plot of mass execution by Ptolemy IV -- persecution survived through divine intervention.
