Babylonian Talmud Megillah

Babylonian Talmud Megillah: the Babylonian Gemara on Mishnah Megillah ("Scroll"), in the order Mo'ed (Appointed Times). Reading the scroll of Esther on Purim, the public reading of the Torah and the Prophets, and the holiness of synagogues and scrolls. The Babylonian Talmud (Talmud Bavli) was edited in the academies of Babylonia until about AD 500 or later and became the authoritative Talmud of Jewish law; it quotes each passage of the Mishnah (MISHNAH) and then discusses it (GEMARA), and is cited by folio, as on the page headings here (2a, 2b). It is rabbinic law and teaching, not scripture. English from Daf Shevui (Conservative Yeshiva, CC0); Hebrew and Aramaic from Wikisource's Vilna text.
