1And in the thirty-fifth jubilee, in the third week, in the first year thereof, Reu took to himself a wife, and her name was 'Ora, the daughter of 'Ur, the son of Kesed, and she bare him a son, and he called his name Seroh, in the seventh year of this week in this jubilee.
ወበ*ሰላሳ፡ ወኃምስቱ፡⁴⁰ ኤዮቤልው፡ በሱባዔ፡ ሳልስ በአሐዱ፡⁴¹ *ዓመት፡ ሎቱ፡⁴² ነሠአ፡ ሎቱ፡ ራገው፡¹ ብእሲት፡ ወስማ፡ እራ፡² ወለት፡ ኡር፡³ ወልደ፡⁴ ኬሴድ፡ ወወለደት፡ ሎቱ፡ ወልደ፡ ወ*ጸውዖ፡⁵ ስሞ፡ ሴሮሕ፡⁶ *በሳብዐ፡ ዓመቱ፡⁷ ለዝ፡ ሱባዔ፡ በ⁸ዝ፡ ኤዮቤልው፡፡⁹
2And the sons of Noah began to war on each other, to take captive and to slay each other, and to shed the blood of men on the earth, and to eat blood, and to build strong cities, and walls, and towers, and individuals (began) to exalt themselves above the nation, and to found the beginnings of kingdoms, and to go to war people against people, and nation against nation, and city against city, and all (began) to do evil, and to acquire arms, and to teach their sons war, and they began to capture cities, and to sell male and female slaves.
4And they made for themselves molten images, and they worshipped each the idol, the molten image which they had made for themselves, and they began to make graven images and unclean simulacra, and malignant spirits assisted and seduced (them) into committing transgression and uncleanness.
ወገብሩ፡ ሎሙ፡²⁰ ስዑበክዎት ወይሰግዱ፡ ዘዘ³² ለጣዖት፡ ዘገብሩ፡ ለርእሶ፡ በዘገበ ወወጠኑ፡ ይግበሩ፡ ግልፍ፡³³ ወ*ምስለ፡ ርኵስ፡³⁴ ወመናፍስት፡³⁵ አጋንንት፡³⁶ ይረድኡ፡ ወ*ያስሕቱ፡ ከመ፡ ይግበሩ፡ አበሳ፡³⁷ ወርኵስ፡፡³⁸
5And the prince Mastema exerted himself to do all this, and he sent forth other spirits, those which were put under his hand, to do all manner of wrong and sin, and all manner of transgression, to corrupt and destroy, and to shed blood upon the earth.
ወመኵንን፡ መስቴማ፡ ይኤይል፡ ለ*ግብረ፡³⁹ ዝንቱ፡ ኵሉ፡ ወይፌኑ፡ *ባዕደ፡ መናፍስተ፡⁴⁰ ለእለ፡ ተውህቡ፡⁴¹ ታሕተ፡ እደሁ፡⁴² ለገቢረ፡ ዙቱ፡ ገጋይ፡ ወኅጤአት፡ ወዙቱ፡ አበሳ፡ ለአማስኖ፡ ወለ*አኅንጉሎ፡ ወለክዑ፡ ደም፡ ዲበ፡⁴³ ምድር፡፡
6For this reason he called the name of Seroh, Serug, for every one turned to do all manner of sin and transgression.
በ⁴⁴እንተዝ፡ *ጸውዖ፡ ስሞ፡⁴⁵ ለሴሮሕ፡⁴⁶ እስመ፡⁴⁷ ተመይጡ፡ ዙቱ፡ ለገቢረ፡ ኅጢአት፡ ወዓመፃ፡ ወእበሱ፡፡⁴⁹
7And he grew up, and dwelt in Ur of the Chaldees, near to the father of his wife's mother, and he worshipped idols, and he took to himself a wife in the thirty-sixth jubilee, in the fifth week, in the first year thereof, and her name was Melka, the daughter of Kaber, the daughter of his father's brother.
ወልህቀ፡ ወነበረ፡ ውስተ፡ ኡር፡ ዘ*ከለዳውያን፡⁵⁰ ቀርብ፡⁵¹ አቡ፡ እመ፡ ብእሲቱ፡ ወከነ፡ ያመልክ፡ ጣዖተ፡፡ ወነሠአ፡ ሎቱ፡ ብእሲት፡ አመ፡ *ስሳ፡ ወስድስቱ፡⁵² ኤዮቤልው፡⁵³ በሱባዔ፡ ኃምስ፡ በ*ዓመት፡¹⁰ ቀዳሚሁ፡ ሎቱ፡ ወስማ፡ ሜልካ፡⁵⁴ ወለተ፡ ካቤር፡¹
8And she bare him Nahor, in the first year of this week, and he grew and dwelt in Ur of the Chaldees, and his father taught him the researches of the Chaldees to divine and augur, according to the signs of heaven.
ወለት፡ እኍው፡ አቡሁ፡፡ ወወሲደት፡ ሎቱ፡ ናኮር፡ በ*ዓመት፡² ቀድሚሁ፡³ ለዝ፡ ሱባዔ፡ ወልህቀ፡ ወነደረ፡ *ውስተ፡ ኡር፡ በከለዳዊያን፡⁴ ወመሀሮ፡ አቡሁ፡ ንግሂሆሙ ለ*ከለዳዊያን፡⁵
9And in the thirty-seventh jubilee in the sixth week, in the first year thereof, he took to himself a wife, and her name was 'Ijaska, the daughter of Nestag of the Chaldees.
ለ*ተማርዮ፡⁶ ወለተስገሎ፡ በ*ተአምረ፡⁷ ሰማይ፡፡ ወበኀምሳ፡ ኤዮቤልው፡⁸ በሱባዔ፡ ሳድስ፡ በ*ዓመቱ፡ አሐዱ፡⁹ ሎቱ፡ ነሲአ፡ ብእሲት፡ ወስማ፡ ኤያስካ፡¹⁰ ወለተ፡ ኔክታን፡¹¹ ዘ*ከለዳዊያን፡፡⁵
11And the prince Mastema sent ravens and birds to devour the seed which was sown in the land, in order to destroy the land, and rob the children of men of their labours. Before they could plough in the seed, the ravens picked (it) from the surface of the ground.
ወፈነወ፡ መኵንን፡ መስቴማ፡ ቃናት፡ ወ*አዕዋፈ፡¹² ከመ፡ ይብልዑ፡ *ዘርአ፡ ዘይዘራዑ፡¹³ ውስተ፡ ምድር፡ ለ¹⁴እማስኖ፡ ምድር፡ ከመ፡ ይሂድዋሙ፡ ለ*እንሲ፡¹⁵ ስብእ፡ ተግባርሙ፡¹⁶ ዘእንበለ፡ ይኃርሱ፡ ዘርአ፡ ይእርዩ፡¹⁷ ቃናት፡ እምገጹ፡ ምድር፡፡
12And for this reason he called his name Terah because the ravens and the birds reduced them to destitution and devoured their seed.
ወ*በእንተዝ፡ ጸውዐ፡ ስሞ፡ ታራ፡ እስመ፡ ያስተዲንስዋሙ፡ ቃናት፡¹⁸ ወአዕዋፍ፡¹⁸
14And in this thirty-ninth jubilee, in the second week in the first year, Terah took to himself a wife, and her name was 'Edna, the daughter of 'Abram, the daughter of his father's sister.
እምዙቱ፡ ፍሬ፡ ምድር፡ በመዋዕሊሆሙ፡፡ ወ⟦illegible: ordinal/jubilee-count⟧ ኤዮቤልው፡⁸ በሱባዔ፡ ካልእ፡ በቀዳሚ፡ ዓመት፡²³ ነሲአ፡²⁴ ሎቱ፡ *ታራ፡ ብእሲት፡²⁵ ወስማ፡ ኤድና፡ ወለተ፡ አብራም፡²⁶ ወለተ፡
15And in the seventh year of this week she bare him a son, and he called his name Abram, by the name of the father of his mother; for he had died before his daughter had conceived a son.
እኅት፡²⁷ አቡሁ፡ [ሎቱ፡ ብእሲት]፡፡²⁸ ወበ*ሳብዖ፡ ዓመቱ፡²⁹ በዝ*ሱባዔ፡ ወለደት፡ ሎቱ፡ ወልደ፡ ወጸወዖ፡ ስሞ፡ አብራም፡ በስመ፡ አቡ፡ እሙ፡ አቡሁ፡ ዓመት፡²⁷ ዘእንበለ፡ ትውልደ፡³⁰ ወልደ፡ ወለቱ፡፡
16And the child began to understand the errors of the earth that all went astray after graven images and after uncleanness, and his father taught him writing, and he was two weeks of years old, and he separated himself from his father, that he might not worship idols with him.
ወ²⁷እንዘ፡ *ሕፃን፡ ያእምር፡³¹ ስሕተተ፡ ምድር፡ ከመ፡ *ኵሉ፡ ይስሕት፡²⁵ በድኃሬሆሙ፡ ለ*ግልፍ፡³² ወድኃረ፡ ርኵስ፡ ወመሀሮ፡ አቡሁ፡ መጽሐፈ፡ ወወልደ፡ ክልኤ፡ ሱባዔ፡ ዓመት፡ ውእቱ፡
17And he began to pray to the Creator of all things that He might save him from the errors of the children of men, and that his portion should not fall into error after uncleanness and vileness.
ወተፈልጠ፡ እምድኅረ፡ አቡሁ፡ ከመ፡ ኢይስግድ፡ ምስሌሁ፡ ለጣዖት፡፡ ወእንዘ፡ ይጸሊ፡ ኀበ፡ ፈጣሪ፡ ኵሉ፡ ከመ፡ *ያድኅኖ፡ እምስሕተት፡ ውሉደ፡ ሰብእ፡³³ ወ*ከመ፡²⁷ ኢይደረድ፡ *መከፈልቱ፡
18And the seed time came for the sowing of seed upon the land, and they all went forth together to protect their seed against the ravens, and Abram went forth with those that went, and the child was a lad of fourteen years.
ውስተ፡ ስሕት፡³⁴ ድኅረ፡ ርኵስ፡ ወምናኔ፡፡ ወበጽሐ፡ ጊዜ፡ ዘርአ፡ ለዘሪአ፡ ውስተ፡ ምድር፡ ወወፅኡ፡ ኵሎሙ፡ ኀቡረ፡ ከመ፡ ይዕቀቡ፡ ዘርአሙ፡¹ እምገጸ፡ ቋዓት፡ ወወፅአ፡ አብራም፡ ምስለ፡ እለ፡ ወፅኡ፡ ወ²*ሕፃን፡ ወልደ፡ ፲ወ፬ዓመት፡፡³
19And a cloud of ravens came to devour the seed, and Abram ran to meet them before they settled on the ground, and cried to them before they settled on the ground to devour the seed, and said, ' Descend not: return to the place whence ye came,' and they proceeded to turn back.
ወደመና፡ ቋዓት፡ መጽኡ፡ ከመ፡ ይብልዑ፡ ዘርአ፡⁴ ወ*አብራም፡⁵ ይረውጽ፡ በ⁶እንጻሪሆሙ፡ ዘእንበለ፡ ይንብሩ፡⁷ ውስተ፡ ምድር፡ *ወይኬልኦ ላዕሌሆሙ ዘእንበለ፡ ይንብሩ፡ ዲበ፡ ምድር፡⁶ ለበሊዐ፡ ዘርአ፡ ወይብል፡ ኢትረዱ፡ ግብኡ፡ ውስተ፡ መካን፡ ኀበ፡ ወፃእክሙ፡ ወይተመየጡ፡፡
20And he caused the clouds of ravens to turn back that day seventy times, and of all the ravens throughout all the land where Abram was there settled there not so much as one.
ወ*ገብረ፡⁸ ለደመና፡ ቋዓት፡ ሰብዓ፡ *በይእቲ፡ ዕለት፡⁹ ወኢ*ነበረ፡¹⁰ እም*ኵሉ፡¹¹ ቋዓት፡ ውስተ፡ ኵሉ፡ ገራውህ፡ ኀበ፡ ሀሎ፡ አብራም፡¹² ህየ፡ ወኢ*አሐዱ፡፡¹³
21And all who were with him throughout all the land saw him cry out, and all the ravens turn back, and his name became great in all the land of the Chaldees.
ወይሬእይዎ፡ ኵሎሙ፡ እለ፡¹⁴ ምስሌሁ፡ ውስተ፡ ኵሉ፡² ገራውህ፡ እንዘ፡¹⁵ ይኬልሕ፡ ወ²ኵሉ፡ ቋዓት፡ ተመይጡ፡ ወዐቢይ፡ ስሙ፡ በኵሉ፡ ምድረ፡¹⁶ ከላዴዎን፡፡¹⁷
22And there came to him this year all those that wished to sow, and he went with them until the time of sowing ceased: and they sowed their land, and that year they brought enough grain home and eat and were satisfied.
ወመጽኡ፡ ኀቤሁ፡ በዓመት፡ ዝንቱ፡ ኵሎሙ፡ እለ፡ ይዘርኡ፡ ወሀሎ፡ የሐውር፡ ምስሌሆሙ፡ እስከ፡ አመ፡ የሐልቅ፡ ጊዜ፡ ዘርአ፡¹⁸ ወዘርኡ፡ ምድሮሙ፡ ወአብኡ፡ በውእቱ፡ ዓመት፡ እክለ፡ እኩሉ፡¹⁹ ወበልዑ፡²⁰ ወጸግቡ፡፡
23And in the first year of the fifth week Abram taught those who made implements for oxen, the artificers in wood, and they made a vessel above the ground, facing the frame of the plough, in order to put the seed thereon, and the seed fell down therefrom upon the share of the plough, and was hidden in the earth, and they no longer feared the ravens.
ወ⁶በዓመት፡ አሐዱ፡ ዘሱባዔ፡ ኃምስ፡ መሀረ፡ አብራም፡²¹ ለእለ፡ ይገብሩ፡ ንዋየ፡ አልህምት፡ ለ*ኪነት፡ ዕፅ፡²² ወገብሩ፡ ንዋየ፡ በመልዕልት፡ ምድር፡ በእንጻረ፡ *ድጉረ፡ ዕርፍ፡²³ ከመ፡ ይንብሩ፡²⁴ ላዕሌሁ፡ ዘርአ፡ ወይወርድ፡ እምውስቴቱ፡ ዘርአ፡²⁵ ውስተ፡ ከተማ፡ ዕርፍ፡²⁶ ወይትነባእ፡ ውስተ፡ ምድር፡ ወኤይደፈርሁ፡ እንኪ፡⁶ እም*ገጻ፡⁶ ቃናት፡፡²⁷
24And after this manner they made (vessels) above the ground on all the frames of the ploughs, and they sowed and tilled all the land, according as Abram commanded them, and they no longer feared the birds.
ወገብሩ፡ ከመዝ፡⁶ ላዕለ፡ ኵሉ፡ *ድጉረ፡ ዕርፍ፡²⁸ መልዕልት፡ ምድር፡ ወዘርአ፡ ወ*ገብሩ፡²⁹ *ኵሉ፡ ምድረ፡³⁰ ዘከመ፡³¹ አዘዙ፡ አብራም፡ ወኤይደፈርሁ፡ እንክ፡⁶ እም*አዖዋፍ፡፡³²
